Stuck in a paradigm of preconceived ideas?

In today's world almost everything is measurable. These measurements are based on assumptions and experiences. Because of these assumptions, we assume that everything works in a strict pattern, and has its own stable formula, that can be calculated ahead of time. These calculations are based on measurements some people have defined once. Assuming that their units were the only ones, and that there is no other possible outcome. For possible changes, the system made up variables, logarithms  and exponentials. This predicting thing makes us feel save. And it got us really far. But if you predict everything, there is nothing new to explore.
Previous generations created formulas for our lives, based on their experiences. Based on their assumptions. Wouldn't those get outdated? We’re passing our formulas to next generations, even though it isn’t even sure these are best. Were just collectively taking things for what they are, if someone has defined it as a fact. So we’re stuck in a system of passing information that could be irrelevant, or undermined within a few years.  That’s quite a paradox if you still believe that today’s system is about innovation and change.
We create and hold on to collective believes, because of education and media, Media has made us believe that technology is the future. Who today isn't praising their phone as if it was god?  Our phones made it easy to keep in contact, but made it harder to make a real connection with people. Also our phone subscriptions are a good method to exploid people.
The news is just a source of information that only shows one side of a story. The government its story. If you’re watching the news, it feels like you’re creating your own opinion or truth, but what is left to assume differently, if the information could only lead you to one vision, by only giving one sided information.
With the internet, we think we are able to find our own context. And look for different sides of a story. IF we want to. If you have allready made your assumptions, it's quiet obvious, you will find an outcome based on those. (by your searchmethods)  Also, google is tracking your searchdata, and is adjusting its search results  based on the internetbehaviour of the user. So everyone has created it's own internet reality. And therefor created his or her  own reality. Based on assumptions.
So... Are we stuck in a paradigm of preconceived ideas?
A big part of the people is not able to look objective at the things that are crucial to your perception of reality. Like media, education, environment, and cultural background (history, language, traditions, religion, etc.) Our ancestors created our world and perception. In a way to obtain some sort of certainty, like how we are still searching for certainty.
Our previous generations have been busy creating an overvieuw of information. Everything needed to be defined and put in boxes to create a collective essence. A world of yes and no. Ones and zeros. Understandeble for almost everyone. In order to create a sort of safety. And be sure that people are talking about the same thing.
Today’s society is certainly focussed on this collective essence, wrapping it up in a nice package calling it "intellect."  Which makes it very hard for some individuals or “minorities” to create their own truth, and their own assumptions. Because they need to be substantiated economically or logically. Without this substantiation they aren’t seen as assumptions of value. Even though it can be of great value to the person that has this believe. We’re destroying this believe, and make these people also think in boxes. This safe, collective essence narrowed us. Making us afraid to question it. Making us afraid to speak for ourselves, and eventually might even make us afraid of thinking for ourselves.
